Welcome to Bilingual Families Perth
From the Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,
As we come to the end of Term 2 I would like to thank all of our families for making me feel so welcome in the Landsdale community. Landsdale Primary School is a wonderful school and through this term I have been building relationships with staff, students and parents, working with staff to look at our future directions, building networks with outside agencies to enhance the social and emotional outcomes for our students as well as academic and looking at ways we can streamline our processes to further support our families. I am focused for Semester 2 on looking at ways of bringing our school together through events and opportunities to celebrate our students, community and school.
We have also been focusing on ensuring our students are wearing our school uniform as the weather has become much colder. Our school uniform at Landsdale Primary School is really important for a number of reasons:
- School uniforms promote a sense of equality among students as there is no pressure in relation to competitive dressing.
- School uniforms create a sense of belonging and unity as we are all in the same attire.
- School uniforms help to reduce social pressures and bullying associated with appearance or socio-economic status.
- School uniforms help to create an atmosphere focused on learning and reduces distractions in the classroom.
- School uniforms help us to keep our students safe as they are easily identified, and we can easily recognise those who should not be on our school site.
- School uniforms help to instil a sense of pride and identity in students as well as foster a shared sense of purpose and camaraderie.
At Landsdale our uniform supports a positive school culture and this is something that we continue to focus on each day. Please support us in building and maintaining our positive culture by ensuring your child wears their school uniform each day.
Our school uniform is:
Dress Code:
- Students should ensure that they take appropriate protection from the sun when outdoors. No hat – No play in the sun! is our policy.
- No thongs, health or beach sandals are permitted.
- “Fad” clothing or accessories will not be permitted e.g. bunny ear headbands, fluro/bright socks or other items deemed to be opposed to the spirit and intent of the school’s student dress code.
- Jewellery – For safety reasons children may wear the following items of jewellery only:
- Earrings – studs or sleepers only
- A watch
- Long hair must be tied up for all students.
- All uniform items can be purchased online or by visiting Tudor Uniforms at 1/75 Excellence Drive Wangara. Website - Tudorschooluniforms.com.au
Uniform:
- Landsdale Primary School Teal Polo Shirt with Logo
- Landsdale Primary School Faction Polo Shirt with Logo
- Navy Blue School Shorts
- Navy blue skirt
- Navy Blue School Skort
- Navy Blue School Shorts
- School Dress
- Navy Blue School Tracksuit Pants
- Navy blue pants
- Navy Blue School Jacket
- Landsdale Primary School Bucket Hat
- Appropriate shoes for school activities
- Short white, black or navy blue socks
- White, black or navy blue tights
We are also ensuring in Semester 2 that we are enhancing our focus on our school rules and our I-values. Our I-values and school rules promote a safe school environment ensuring tolerance and understanding above and beyond our political, cultural and religious differences. Our I-values and our school rules will be more visible in our school through our assemblies, website, Facebook page and classrooms through the second part of this year.
Our school rules are:
- Be Safe
- Be Respectful
- Be Ready to Learn
Our I-values are:
- I work well with others
- I am responsible
- I am a global citizen
- I think creatively
- I think clearly
- I make good choices
During the school holidays you might like to talk to your child/children about our school rules and I-values which enhance their positive learning experiences at our school.
I hope that all of our families have a fantastic Winter break and enjoy some quality time together. I believe it is so important to find those special moments that bring us joy and I hope your holidays are filled with them.
I look forward to seeing everyone again at the beginning of Term 3.
Kindest regards,
Ms Kerryn Woodhouse
Principal

RUNNING CLUB:
Congratulations to Chance W for hitting the 200 lap milestone of our Monday Morning Running Club.
LIGHTNING CARNIVAL:
By all reports the 2023 Lightning Carnival was a tremendous success with 12 teams, over 5 different sports, representing Landsdale P.S. with great effort and perseverance.
Our AFL team won their first Championship in 8 years, going undefeated all day before defeating Ashdale P.S. in the grand final 32-2. Our A Division soccer team came away with a 4th consecutive Championship in a highly competitive tournament. Landsdale’s D Division Netball also finished the day as winners with some other close results throughout the other competitions.
Congratulations to all of our sporting superstars for representing themselves and the school with pride and we now look forward to Term 3’s Athletics Carnivals.

Ellenbrook Fencing Club is a not for profit sporting club, that teaches the Olympic sport of epee fencing. We are a small but modestly successful Club and the only fencing Club in the City of Swan and surrounds.
We have had a lot of success at State level, with teenagers and primary school students. In fact, last year, our students were the State u13 boys epee champion, the State u13 girls epee champion and the State u15 girls epee champion!
We train at Priestley Hall at Guildford Grammar Preparatory School, on Tuesday 5.45-7.15pm and Saturday 9-11am.
We are offering Landsdale Primary School students and staff a $15 per session discount from our normal Club session price (so pay $15 instead of $30), for the first 4 weeks. You would just need to mention that you are coming to the Club because of the SCHOOL’S PROMOTION. Just call or text Bruce on 0413688300 to make arrangements.
City of Wanneroo – Bin Sticker Competition
Following on from the success of previous years’ “Bin Sticker Competition” we are excited to invite students at your school to participate in our upcoming design competition. The competition is open to all students and aims to encourage creativity, environmental awareness, and community involvement.
The competition requires students to plan, design and create a persuasive poster that will be turned into bin stickers for bins in the parks and along the coast. This project provides a fantastic opportunity for students to showcase their artistic talents and demonstrate their commitment to environmental responsibility. It is also a great way to engage students in a fun and meaningful activity that supports their academic growth.
Please see the attached poster. The size of the sticker will be A3 in size, so you may choose to either print off the template in this size, or complete as an A4 and we will do the enlarging.
Entries close 5pm, Wednesday 19th July 2023.
Enquiries: City of Wanneroo Waste Education Officer, 9405 5000
