From the Principal
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
I would like to thank all of our community for the wonderful year we have had here at Landsdale Primary School. When I joined our incredible school community in Term 2 I could not have predicted how much I would love working with the staff, students and parents here. We have a very special school and it is important to take a moment and appreciate everyone and everything that makes our school what it is. As I go into the holiday period I am grateful for being given this opportunity to build, develop and grow together into the future focused on our continuous improvement agenda.
In 2024 we look forward to enhancing our community partnerships, facilitating more opportunities for whole school events, building on our distributed leadership and leadership development programs, focusing on mental health and wellbeing for staff, students and our community, enhancing partnerships with private industry to enhance student wellbeing, getting to know more of our families and students, enhancing student voice, developing our new business plan in collaboration with staff, students and our community that will drive our strategic direction for the next 3 years, building our collaborative planning across year levels, and most importantly making our school the best place for students to thrive academically, physically and mentally.
I would like to thank all of our staff at Landsdale Primary School for all that they do everyday for our students and families. As we end 2023 I would like to give my appreciation to our staff who are leaving, and wish them well in their next journey. Farwell to:
- Carolyn Lane
- Karen Carter

- Nancy Sirohi
- Courtney Carr
- Grainne Hamill
- Virginia Everall
- Dee Clayden
- Alexi Keller
- Belinda Scott

- Teresa Chapman
I would also like to welcome our new staff to our school for 2024:

As we move into this magical time of the year I hope your Christmas sparkles with many moments of love, laughter and goodwill. I hope the year ahead is filled with contentment and joy for all our families. I wish all of our community a safe and happy holiday with family, friends and colleagues. I am very much looking forward to 2024 and seeing you all again for another fantastic year at Landsdale Primary School.
Kindest regards,
Ms Kerryn Woodhouse

Library Borrowing Now Closed!
Library book borrowing has now CLOSED for 2023! Thank you to all our students, parents and staff who visited the Library to borrow this year. It's now time to return your books, in preparation for our end-of-year inventory and tidy-up. Please assist us by ensuring that your books are returned this week. Parent loans are also now due back. There are no Christmas holiday loans over the summer break. However, your child can still access our Landsdale Digital Library (see below).
Encourage Reading Over the Summer Break with Wheelers ePlatform
With the festive season just around the corner, summer reading is an important, enjoyable activity that students can do during the holidays to help avoid the 'Summer Slide' in reading achievements gained during the school year.
While the Library building is closed over the Christmas holidays, our Wheelers ePlatform eLibrary is OPEN 24/7!
You can access eBooks and audiobooks any time of the night or day. Our students have set some fantastic reading goals and met some amazing milestones during 2023. To keep the reading momentum going over the long summer break, simply log on to Wheelers ePlatform and KEEP READING!
Our digital collection of eBooks and audiobooks are fun, portable, can involve the whole family over the holidays and will help students academically. Audiobooks are great for long car journeys. Reluctant readers can enjoy the story no matter what their ability, or the whole family can listen together.
Landsdale Primary School students have access to borrow books 24/7. Our Digital Library never closes! You and your child can access eBooks and audiobooks online via the

Fun Facts about Wheelers ePlatform:
* Each student can borrow TWO books at a time for a period of TWO weeks.
* The borrowed books will automatically disappear from your device and be returned as soon as the due date is reached. (No more overdue books!)
* You can return the book before the due date by pressing the RETURN button.
* You can RESERVE items that are currently out on loan.
* ePlatform is a Shared Collection (we share the eBooks with other schools around Australia). This keeps the costs down and allows us to access a great range of titles.
* We also purchase our own titles to add to our Private Collection. These titles are for the exclusive use of Landsdale Primary School students.
KEEP READING ALL YEAR ROUND
AND DISCOVER THE FUN OF READING ON YOUR
MOBILE DEVICE.
TOO EASY and KIDS LOVE IT!
And here’s a few more practical tips and tricks to get you started and to keep your child reading throughout the summer:
* Make sure your devices are charged before you get comfy.
* Download books in Wi-Fi spaces or before you go camping with unstable connections.
* Use the ‘Settings Wizard’ comfort reading options to suit your needs.
Parents, you can help ensure your children are finding their perfect comfort setting for reading on a device. It’s simple. It only takes two minutes and is something you can do together. Once set, it remains with the student’s login no matter what device they read on. These settings were created especially for dyslexic and visually impaired readers but can enhance every reader’s experience.
Happy Summer Reading!
P&C News
I would like to thank everyone for all the support over the year and the amazing events run by the P&C including the wonderful canteen. We truly do have a bunch of very special people who support and contribute to the school and community - events like the recently successful colour run and book fair which brings us all together. It is a pleasure to see all the wonderful smiles and enjoyment. All the other major events run truly are great events and also raise valuable funds for the school to expand and support the community.
I wish everyone a great last couple of weeks of term and hope everyone involved will be back next year to continue the great work.
Congratulations to the graduates of Year 6.
I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Hope to catch up next year and celebrate the achievements of 2023 and plan for 2024.
Thank you,
Mark

Parent Link Program 2024 – Class Parent Rep Co-ordinator Position Expression of Interest
We are looking for any amazing parent/s who are willing to help manage the Parent Link Program.
The Parent Link Coordinator role is very rewarding and is a wonderful opportunity to get to know parents across the whole school.
The program is significantly valued by the school community and it would be excellent for future years to have the program continue, should someone be willing to take it on!
Without coordinators, each class will be left to create their own contact lists each year. There will be no roll over of details for future years, no bulk text/email reminders, no Rep contact list. These are important parts of the success of the program. Please take some time to consider volunteering for the role.
If you would like to express interest, or know more and be sent the job description outlining the Parent Link Program Coordinators role at LPS, please contact Michelle Santoro on 0402 845 733 or at lpsparentlinkcoordinator2@hotmail.com or Nerissa Toh on 0432 326 584 or at lpsparentlinkcoordinator1@hotmail.com
PARENT LINK PROGRAM 2024 CLASS PARENT REP EXPRESSION OF INTEREST;
As the year is coming to an end, our LPS Parent Link Program is looking ahead to establish a list of Class Parent Representatives for 2024!
Class Parent Reps volunteer their time to forward a compiled class parent contact list, texts and email messages to parents in their class who have joined the Parent Link Program.
Please feel free to express your interest at your earliest convenience, or by Monday 22nd January 2024 at the latest, by contacting the Parent Link Program Coordinators Michelle Santoro on 0402 845 733 or at lpsparentlinkcoordinator2@hotmail.com or Nerissa Toh on 0432 326 584 or at lpsparentlinkcoordinator1@hotmail.com with the name/s and year-group/s of your child/children you wish to be a Rep for.
Parent Link Program Coordinators Michelle and Nerissa are also happy to answer any questions you may have regarding being a future Class Parent Rep!
