From the Principal
Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank you so much for your support this term in our community as well as with your child/children’s learning. Even though we have had a short term as a school we have achieved great things already in Term 1 of 2024. We started the term with our parent information sessions which enabled families to connect with our school and meet our staff. We have also developed the leadership skills and attributes of our year level team leaders through key learning in developing emotional intelligence and collegiate leadership processes. Our incredible Parent Link coordinators held the Parent Link Picnic which was a huge success and enabled our parents to connect with one another. Students participated in swimming lessons which is an essential skill for them in our WA environment as they continue to grow. We raised $781 through our Yellow and Pink Day for Neuroblastoma and through this have given back to those less fortunate than ourselves and supported families and a cause far beyond our own community. Our P&C have also already been supporting our learning areas through their fundraising and we are so thankful.
Our year 3 and 5 students have been participating in NAPLAN over the last week and we are so proud of their efforts! Our Year 6 students also had a Leadership Development Day which included an inspirational session with Greg Hire (Former Wildcats Player), team building games and a wonderful lunch. We are also celebrating Harmony Day today and this is so important as it recognises the diversity within our school and the importance of supporting one another. The cultural foods on offer showcase our incredible community!
In Week 9 we will finish the term with our Easter Hat Parades as we lead into the Easter period. I would like to wish all of our families a safe and happy holiday. If you are celebrating Easter, I hope you enjoy the time with family and friends as well as the joy togetherness brings us.
I look forward to seeing all of our families at the beginning of Term 2!
Take care and enjoy the cooler weather.
Kindest regards,
Ms Kerryn Woodhouse

Harmony Day – Food Fest
Today (Thursday 21st March), Landsdale Primary School will be celebrating Harmony Day. Students are encouraged to wear orange clothes, or clothes representing their culture. It is not a free dress day and no coin donation is required.
LA 29 and Year 6 students are organising our delicious 2024 Harmony Day Food Fest(ival) with the help of Year 3 students and some other classes. We want to celebrate the different cultures in the world by bringing in yummy food to share. Students in other classes are also welcome to bring in a dish for us to sell.
Did you know, Harmony Day was first held in Australia in 1999? It is a day when people celebrate cultural diversity. Harmony Day also coincides with the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. It is a day of cultural respect to everyone that calls Australia their ‘home.’
We would like to encourage families in our wonderfully multicultural school community to participate by giving your child money to buy some tasty food from different cultures! Prices will range from 50c to $1.00.
Money raised during the Food Fest will go towards a charity chosen by Year 6 students. Get ready to go on a cultural food safari!
Natalie, Jacinta and Mrs Marrion (Year 6, LA 29)
Roadwise Information
Traffic Warden Reminder
Our wonderful Traffic Warden on Southmead Drive, Lynne, has requested when using Southmead Drive for your Kiss and Drive, please do not park over the cross walk in the afternoon moving forward to continue around the roundabout. Please stop at the first bollard and white line.
It’s very difficult and not safe for the Traffic Warden to move around the cars that have parked over the crosswalk while waiting to move forward, and definitely not safe for the children to cross.
Stop at the first white line before the red and white bollard going towards the cross walk.
Keep your speed to 40km in the school zone.
