From the Principal
Dear Parents and Carers,
As we come to the end of a busy term, I would like to remind everyone about the need to be mindful of the safety of our students at the start and end of every school day. Traffic around schools is always complex and Landsdale Primary School is no exception. The following points are particularly relevant to our school:
- We would like to remind parents that the only drop off/pick up zone for the school is our Kiss and Drive that is located at the front of the school on The Broadview.
- Parents are asked to refrain from dropping off and picking up students along Southmead Drive, unless parked legally in one of the bays along that road.
- When you are queuing for Kiss and Drive, or anywhere else around the school, please ensure that all roundabouts are kept clear to facilitate the smooth flow of traffic.
- If you enter Kiss and Drive and your children have not yet arrived for pickup, please be prepared to ‘do a lap’ to help keep traffic flowing smoothly.
- We encourage parents to park in the community centre carpark, or even at the shopping centre, and walk the short distance to the school to drop off and pick up students.
Attached is an information leaflet provided by the City of Wanneroo that outlines some of the rules of parking around schools.
We have many plans in place for a busy and productive term 4, with beach swimming lessons for our year 5 and 6 students, year 6 camp, Kindy orientation days, Multicultural Days, high school transition days, our end of year concert and community fair, and year 6 graduation celebrations all scheduled to take place. I look forward to the many opportunities for our students, families and the wider school community to join together with one another and enjoy all that Landsdale Primary School has to offer.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish all staff, student and families a relaxing and restful holiday break. School resumes for students on Monday 7th October 2024.
Kindest regards,
Kerryn Woodhouse
Principal

Our Scarecrow
Mrs Boyle, Mrs Green and the students in LA2 have been hard at work on a creative project for the Perth Royal Show 2024 Scarecrow Competition. The project has created a fantastic opportunity for students to showcase their creativity while learning about agriculture and recycling in a fun, hands-on way.
Judging takes place on Friday, 20 September, with the results and awards announced on Saturday, 21 September, at 11:00 am. Exciting prizes are up for grabs, including first, second, and third place, along with two highly commended and ‘People’s Choice’ awards across two age groups—K-2 and 3-6.
If you're visiting the Royal Show these holidays, keep an eye out for the LA2 LPS Scarecrow and cheer on our budding creators!
Class Placement Requests
The school is now planning for classes and class structure for the 2025 school year. As you would imagine it is very difficult to predict enrolment numbers this far out from the beginning of next year.
Landsdale Primary School ensures classes are formed in such a way as to best meet the needs of its students. The school spends a considerable amount of time creating its class structure which is based upon the professional judgements of staff with the aim of creating the best learning environment for each student. All factors are considered when making these judgements. The best interest of all students is paramount when making placement decisions.
Parents and carers may request a specific class placement through providing the school with educational reasoning behind this request. This may be in the form of specific information about their child’s learning needs that they believe the school may not be aware of. Such information would not include any requests regarding a particular individual teacher. Please be aware that these requests may be considered but not automatically accommodated. Please email Mrs Tania Burke tania.burke@education.wa.edu.au or send a letter marked ‘Private and Confidential’ to Mrs Burke by Friday 25th October 2024.
Class lists will be formed and then reviewed by all staff and submitted to the Executive Team for further review. Following this, any changes to class placement will only be made in exceptional circumstances, however this tends to be extremely rare.
2025 Kindergarten Enrolments
Please see the front office urgently if you still wish to enrol for Kindergarten next year.
Student Birthdays
We would like to wish the following students, together with all the students who will be celebrating a birthday during the holidays, a very Happy Birthday.
Date | Name | Year |
19th September | Leonardo | 1 |
20th September | Arielle | 1 |
Sports News … with Mr Baggio & Mr Brown
A special congratulations goes out to Luca C in Year 6 who recently received the Best & Fairest Award for the Metro North AFL competition while playing for Kingsway Football Club. To add to this amazing achievement, Luca was playing in the age bracket above his own! We are incredibly proud of Luca’s ongoing successes in the sporting field.
Interschool Athletics Carnival
Congratulations to the 90+ Landsdale competitors who placed 2nd overall in the Interschool Athletics Carnival last week out of the 6 schools. The feeling of team spirit and sportsmanship amongst our students was incredible to see and the results were tremendous across all events.
Some special mentions to our Year 5 & 6 boys who placed first in 7 of their 8 races and of course Landsdale winning the overall Grand Relay. Lansana K achieved the best individual result, placing 1st in 8 of the 9 possible events that students can qualify for.
Thank you to Mr. Smart for his mascot skills on the day and all of the families who came and supported.
Mr. Baggio & Mr. Brown.

As Term 3 draws to a close, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks for your continued support and share some important updates.
Supporting Our Students
We know that life gets busy, and sometimes, lunchboxes get forgotten. At Bush Blues Cafe, we believe that no child should go hungry, and we’re here to ensure every student has access to lunch. If your child has received a lunch from us, you may have received a receipt sent home. As we approach the end of the term, we kindly ask that all outstanding accounts and any forgotten lunch receipts be settled. Your cooperation helps us continue this important service for our school community.
Thank You, Volunteers!
We'd like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our amazing parent volunteers that helped us this term. From the parents who pick up our sushi order every week to the P&C, your dedication and hard work make a huge difference and we couldn’t do what we do without you.
Currently, we are looking for another volunteer to help pick up our sushi order on Friday mornings in term 4. If you can lend a hand, please contact Sue in the canteen. Your support will be greatly appreciated!
Summer Menu Update
We are now looking forward to term 4 and our summer menu which sees the return of our fresh fruit salads and the kid’s favourite slushy. We also have our freshly prepared salads which are full of yummy healthy ingredients, perfect for a hot summer's day. We will continue offering our Wednesday special homemade lunch that changes weekly to keep things fresh and exciting for the kids. Check our Facebook page every Sunday for details. All available to order on QKR!
Thank you for your ongoing support.
Warm regards,
The Bush Blues Cafe Team
