From the Principal
Dear Parents and Families,
The emailing of student reports seems to have been a success as they were delivered on time and we could see that report files had been opened.
While your child may have received a ‘B’ this semester that does not guarantee that he/she receives a ‘B’ next semester. This is because the work gets harder and the standard expected is raised this semester.
If you have any concerns that your child is not progressing well, then book an interview with your child’s teacher.
Our specialist programs are in power mode this term. There are lots of sport and music, in particular the One Big Voice coming soon.
Regards,
Dr Tony Beswick

Chaplain’s Chat
Hi School
Welcome back to school, Term 3 is chilly to start but such a fun term with sports carnival and some swimming and where we see the end of winter and the start of spring - my favourite time of the year!
We are enjoying a great start to the term where students are focusing on their iValues - working well together, making good choices, being responsible, thinking creatively and being global citizens. I love watching them picking up any litter, helping one another in so many ways and being so creative in their assignments and practical team work.
Some information I wanted to share with you all –
Please have a look at the courses being offered through our health department.

BOOK BORROWING COMMENCES FOR TERM 3
The Library has been a happy, hectic place so far this term! Many students enjoyed their holiday reading and are back in the swing of class borrowing. If you have not yet returned or renewed your holiday loans, please do so this week. Also, check your class timetable for your allocated Library Book Change Day as some classes have changed times due to swimming, DOTT changes, etc. It’s going to be a busy term in the library, so we’ll keep you posted on upcoming events.

Change The World
Dear Landsdale families and community,
This is a message about 'Thinking Globally and Acting Locally'.
The students at Landsdale Primary School are keenly involved in making real changes to improve the world. Please look at the attached document, explore the links and complete the survey if you can. There is information, and ideas, about how you can get involved in 'Plastic Free July' and reduce the use of plastic and packaging in your life.
In week 9 of Term 2, LA 27 developed and conducted a survey of the lunch boxes in 5 classes (107 students) on one day only. Last week we learned how to represent and analyse this data by creating spreadsheets with formulas and converting this information to graphs to try and find solutions to reducing the amount of plastic and packaging in our lunch boxes. This week we are learning how to communicate digital information using an infographic based on our survey findings.
It is our first go and we have only had a couple of hours on Monday this week, so we are still learning how to design and communicate powerful information.

Parent Information School Learning Journey (Open Night) Wednesday, 8 August
Dear Parents
Our School Learning Journey (Open Night) evening this year will be held on Wednesday 8th August, Week 4 of this term, from 4.30-6.30pm.
Classroom teachers will open their classrooms in a learning journey format, with activities and challenges for students to undertake with their parents. These activities reflect the learning that occurs in classrooms and allows parents to experience current curriculum content and school priorities. Specialist staff will also be providing experiences at various locations around the school. Each parent will receive a passport to help them navigate their way around the activities. Please remember this is not a time for interviews with your child’s teacher, however friendly and courteous interaction is encouraged!
Parents will also be required to complete a Parent Survey while at school, either in the wet areas of the blocks or in the library.
We look forward to seeing you on the night.
