From the Principal
Dear Parents and Families,
I wish to thank you for the calm and compassionate way you are handling the current events that are impacting all our lives in so many different ways. It is difficult for everyone to predict what will happen over the coming days and weeks, and an overwhelming feeling of confusion and uncertainty is completely normal. The school is currently providing as much consistency as possible for families and their children and we appreciate your support, kind words and offerings of treats as we continue to do so.
Remember that it is important to make sure you have accurate information as changes happen, so please always refer to the Health Department website, or contact the school if you have any questions, and we will do our best to answer them.

The following links will provide families with information and support around coping with and discussing the current Coronavirus situation with children.

While the Department of Education’s current message is that schools will remain open until the end of the term, I would ask all parents to ensure their contact details are up to date with the front office, and that all parents are signed up to their child’s class Dojo. This will be the main communication avenue if we are required to contact parents during a school closure. While email, text and Facebook may be used, teachers immediate access to parents via the Dojo App, means it is the preferred communication method. Staff are currently working on home learning packages in the event of a closure, however for parents who are keeping their children at home, the Department of Education has a website of educational activities parents may wish to undertake with their children. Teachers will not be providing work for students currently at home.

Please continue to observe social distancing and minimise your movements in the community to ensure you are doing your part to slow down or stop the spread of the virus. If any community member tests positive to the virus, please contact the school immediately.
Take care of each other.
Kind Regards,
Mrs Cass Disisto

On the Ball …. With Mr P
Hi everybody,
Congratulations to all the year 5 students that competed in the girls and boys Academy Plate tennis competition on Thursday, March 12 and Friday, March 13 respectively. All the students tried very hard against some very strong opposition and came away with a couple of wins from each group. It was extremely pleasing to see the tenacity showed by all of the Landsdale competitors. It was great to hear they all had a terrific time and are all looking forward to some more tennis throughout the year.
A big thank you to Jaimal Kika and Lucie Atkin for transporting and assisting with the teams on the day. Thank you to all the other parents that came down to support and help out also.

Runners Club
Runners Club has commenced last Thursday and will run every Thursday on the top oval. As the oval isn’t marked, runners will run from a starting cone, around the goal posts, to another cone and back around the opposite goal posts to the starting cone. Runners have a QR code and laps will be recorded from this. Students will receive badges for achieving certain milestones. Well done to those who have started already!
Thanks everybody
Mr P

Road Wise
Kiss and Drive
We need volunteers for Monday and Tuesday afternoons to help supervise Kiss and Drive. 15-20 minutes of your time is all we ask to help the kids into cars and keep the flow of traffic moving – the bonus is you get a VIP parking bay in the staff carpark. If you’re able to help, even just once, please get in touch with the Kiss and Drive Coordinator, Caitlin on 0419 924 456. Thanks!
Roadwise Reminders
Can parents please remind/discuss the following with your children:
- Please be mindful of blocking the roundabout when waiting for Kiss and Drive in the afternoon. Buses and local traffic still need to be able to get through.
- To assist a better flow of traffic in the afternoon at Kiss and Drive, only the first 3 vehicles will be loaded from the passenger side.
- For the safety of all road users, please No U-turns at Kiss and Drive on The Broadview.
- A reminder there is No Parking on the verge of The Broadview both near the crosswalk and at the Southmead Terrace roundabout, as well as on the Warradale Terrace grassed area leading to the Rockdale Pass roundabout. These are areas that will be fined by the Ranger.
- WALK bikes and scooters at the crosswalks and at Kiss and Drive.
- The driveway or parking area of the service/side entrance on Warradale Terrace is not to be used as a drop off/pick up point at any time.
- Please remember NO PARKING in the dentist car park unless you have an appointment for your child.
In the interests of keeping all our children and community members safe, we appreciate your cooperation with the safe use of our roadways and parking areas.
