6 June 2020
From the Principal
Dear Parents and Families,
I hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend break, and was able to spend some time doing something you maybe haven’t been able to do for a while. These opportunities will be opened up even further as of next Saturday when the state moves into Phase 3 of the government’s ‘COVID-19 Roadmap to Recovery’. Information about what this means for Landsdale Primary School moving forward will be sent home to parents this week.
We are slowly starting to get back into some of our wonderful co-curricular activities, with Runners Club proving popular on Thursday mornings with Mr P. Extension groups in Soccer, Tennis and Vocal Ensemble have also re-started. Students are back into library book borrowing and Book club is also happening.
Parents, you will receive a Semester One report this term, however it will look quite different. The format will be the same, and there will be generic written comments for English and mathematics, and any specialist areas the class have attended. Class teachers will also write an individual comment for each student and provide information on attitude, behaviour and effort. There will be no other comments written and no grade allocations in learning areas. An explanation for parents about the changes for this semester will accompany the report. Reports will be emailed out to families on Thursday 2nd July.
Please ensure all your contact details are up to date with the office so we can contact you immediately and keep you updated on situations should we ever need to. While the risk of COVID infection remains low here in WA, we are now seeing schools on the east coast with positive test cases. If a student or staff member is diagnosed with COVID-19 the school would be closed by the Department of Health for 24 to 48 hours while contact tracing and deep cleaning is carried out.
A reminder to all parents that students with symptoms of upper respiratory tract infection (runny nose, sneezing, cough) should be kept home until symptoms subside or medical opinion is sought.
The Australian Government has developed an app to assist parents in checking their child’s symptoms ( Coronavirus Australia COVID-19 ) with medical advice for when to seek further opinion.
Please always call the office if you have questions. We continue to be grateful that all our staff, students and families remain healthy and safe.
Happy parenting!
Kind Regards,
Mrs Cass Disisto
Principal

Just a reminder for all vice-captains, captains, and sports committee students to make sure they are attending their sports shed duty at recess or lunch, it is really important!
