24 June 2021
From the Principal
Dear parents and caregivers,
COVID Update
On Wednesday 23rd June, Western Australia moved to Phase 5, based on Health advice, all school activities may occur. Assemblies can return to full capacity. Please be mindful of continuing to practise good hygiene principles and physical distancing of 1.5 metres between adults, where possible.
Workforce Update
The staffing process for our new PE teacher is now complete. I would like to welcome Mr Andrew Baggio to our school in the role of PE teacher. I’d like to thank Mr Josh Brown and Mr Tom Palmer for running such a successful 2nd term in PE. Mr Brown will be continuing in his role at Landsdale.
I would also like to send both of our art teachers best wishes, as they move to new schools for 2nd semester. Mrs Abi Callow is going to Tuart Hill Primary School and Mrs Amanda Shelsher is going to Yokine Primary School. Mrs Callow and Mrs Shelsher will be returning to Landsdale Primary School in 2022, I’m sure with lots of new creative ideas. The replacement art teacher is just being finalised.
Reports
Reports will be emailed on Thursday 1st July. Please take some time to read through your child’s report. The report comments demonstrate how your child is progressing against the year level standard and what they need to work on next.
School Development Day
Just a reminder that school resumes for students on Tuesday 20 July. Monday 19th July is a staff development day.
P&C Day
Friday 23rd July is P&C Day. The P&C are integral to the success of our school. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Mrs Natalie Herridge and the rest of the P&C for all their tireless work that they do for Landsdale Primary School. The P&C coordinate many parts of our school, including the canteen and kiss and ride and special events like the disco, book fair and colour run. These wouldn't be successful if it wasn’t for all the work this team does.
I wish all our families a relaxing school holiday break, take time out over the break, it’s been a busy 11-week term. For those families travelling please stay safe, and I look forward to welcoming you all back to school on Tuesday 20th July.
Mrs Natalie Bracegirdle

P&C News
School Disco was amazing!! We had over half of the school again attend and had a fantastic time. We were so overwhelmed with your support that we nearly sold out of what we would normally do across the whole night in just the first session! A massive thank you to you all especially the parents who stood patiently in line for the kids, we could not have anticipated your huge efforts and for that we are super grateful. How awesome is DJ Jordan! Was great to have him back again this year mixing it with the kids on the dance floor.
To all of our parent volunteers, there were 50+ of you, thank you so much for all of your help. From our dad’s on the bbq, to mums and grandparents manning the glow and candy bar, first aiders, floor monitors and those on the door, disco would not be as successful without your help during the night, so THANK YOU! If you were at session 2 you may have been present where a couple of outside kids tried their best at creating a nuisance. Pleased to note these were an isolated instance to that session only and after a call to our local boys in blue there were no further issues during the night. We take ours and your safety seriously and will do what ever we can to keep it.
We are still crunching the numbers but we are almost certain we will clear profiting $4000 for the event which is awesome! This will help bank role our big event of the year, Bogan Bingo in September. With little to no fundraising during the Covid19 year of 2020 we are 100% relying on our efforts this year to keep us going.
If you see me at school, please come and say hi would love to hear feedback or your ideas for the P&C in 2021.

Roadwise Committee
I have noticed in the mornings during Kiss and Drive some children are taking a bit longer to come out of their cars. Understandably things do happen. If this is the case please do drive RIGHT UP to the front of Kiss n Drive rather than block other cars behind. This way traffic is still flowing.
If you are approaching the Kiss and Drive bays, please give way to the cars that have already dropped their children and are exiting. This also it keeps the traffic flowing smoothly.
