15 December 2022
From the Principal
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
As the end of year approaches, we have many things to reflect on as we continue to make Landsdale Primary School great. All the staff are grateful for your support throughout the continued disruptions and challenges that COVID has thrown us in 2022. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the village that raises our young people. To the staff (teachers, support staff, school officers, cleaner and gardeners), the school board, P&C, parent link, Sue and the amazing canteen staff, parents and caregivers who help around the school with everything and the outside agencies and partners (Ashdale Cluster schools, Edith Cowen University and many therapy providers) who work together with us to support the students at Landsdale- a big big thank you.
Staff leaving
We have a number of staff moving onto other adventures or taking extended leave from Landsdale this year, Michelle Guest, Mollie Hills, Jodie Reid, Eden Shaw, Kyle Doughty, Will Ferrier, Belinda Scott, Amy Patience (term 1) Tyson Helliwell, Rose Elliott, Mercedes Marriott, Amanda King, Danni Crane, Julie Phayakh, Julie Marr and Kristy Aravidis.
To Jan Ridley and Josh Jashari, I wish you both every happiness as you start retirement in 2023. You both have given so much to the education of students over the years. Your expertise, kindness and knowledge will be missed.
New principal
As you know Josh Jashari is retiring. I will be taking on the role of principal while his job is advertised and filled. It is expected the new principal will be appointed during term 1 and starting at Landsdale at the beginning of term 2 2023.

YouthCARE Together
Art News … with Ms Gandy
This semester, the Year 6 Art Extension students have been busy designing playground games. Students started by researching games that could be drawn on the floor, such as hopscotch, mirror me and sensory walks. They sketched a draft copy and then began work on making it the correct size. They used cardboard to create stencils that they would use to help paint their designs onto the floor.
The P&C were very kind to grant us the funds to purchase paint that would be suitable for the playground, although Bunnings Warehouse in Wangara surprised us and donated the paint we used. Thank you!
The new wild space, located in the Kindy/Pre-primary area, now has some colourful games painted for the children to enjoy on the playground. I am truly proud of the work the Year 6 extension students have done. Thank you for your hard work!
I would like to wish all the Year 6 students all the very best for high school. It has been a wonderful year seeing you all grow.
Best Wishes to all the Landsdale community over the holiday period.
See you next year.
Miss Gandy
